Rough Sketching 101
In designing clothes, just like in writing an
essay (or whatever), one also experiences the so-called designer's
block...and just like in writing, the best way to fight it is to just
make a scribble...or in writing, just write some random stuffs just to instigate the fire of your somewhat sleeping writing spirit...
I applied the technique a couple of minutes ago...and here are my scribbles or my dirty sketch...
With these, I think I've found my design aesthetic. Or what do you think?

Attempt at Avant-garde
Hi, starting today I'll be sharing my design as a "NEW" post since I've already clustered my earlier hand sketches in my previous posts. For now, here is my attempt at avant-garde fashion.
Avant-garde doesn't only apply to fashion. Evidently, it is a French word, which translates as, "advance guard" or vanguard. It is used as a noun or an adjective to refer to people or works that are innovative, or something new as far as culture, arts and politics are concerned. Fashion, which is obviously under the realm of arts, can also be blended with culture and politics if desired.
As for my hand-sketch below, I think it is something new since I've introduced here the zipped skirt, which can be unzipped in order to attain an edgier and somewhat punk look in the over-all ensemble. I think the design of my cropped bolero is also rarely seen in the runway, and it really complimented the shape of the top.

My Design Portfolio
My interest in sketching gowns started when I was about 6 years old, but I wasn't really cognizant about drawing a fashion croquis until I was in high school. Unfortunately, I can not find all of my designs since they were all scattered in different media: my notebooks, books, scratch papers, calendar, our wall, and so on. Hence, just last April I started to draw again just to be on track with my creative side. :-)
Below are my first three designs:
When I posted this picture on facebook, a lot of my friends liked it, so it really inspired me to design even more. Thus, the following days, I was really attached to my pencil and papers sketching out ideas in my mind. Of course, I don't really sketch every day. There were times when I can draw three or six designs in a day, but still most of the time I don't really sketch anything. It really depends on my mood.
Below are the rest of my earlier designs:
