See Sarah Jessica Parker as Vogue Editor on Glee

According to the sources, Anna Wintour, American Vogue Editor, personally helped on the wardrobe selection for Sarah Jessica Parker's character - which includes pieces from Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, Belstaff and Fendi.

Sex and the City Fanatics you heard it right! Indeed, we will be seeing Sarah Jessica Parker on Glee as she plays the fictional character, Isabelle Wright, fashion editor of American Vogue. Well, apparently the journalistic vibe is already a part of her.

I just can't wait for tomorrow's episode, given the fact that I'm a Gleek and a Sex and the City zealous follower from its old glories up to now.

In the scene that will be aired on Thursday (September 27, 2012), Kurt Hummel (played by Chris Colfer), is seen having an interview with Isabelle (played by Sarah J.P.). Whether he will land a job on Vogue.com or not, we'll never know until tomorrow!!

To placate your curiosity, go take a look at the preview of Isabelle and Kurt's fashion discourse below:

Material Success (2012 Documentary)

Material Success is the WINNER of BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE  at The Toronto Independent Film Festival.

OFFICIAL TRAILER

Following the misadventures of the eccentric designer Bruno Ierullo as he readies for his first fashion show following a personal tragedy that inspires him to risk his life savings on a mid-life career change into the art. Taking the viewer behind-the-scenes of the processes and people involved in preparing the unusually large 300 plus garment collection for the runway within a mere month's time, Material Success features fly-on-the-wall observations and confessionals from the squirrely designer and his tireless band of colleagues that reveal his kaleidoscope art to be a reflection of his iconoclasm.
Peering into the world of fashion production and the different processes and people involved—from textile shops, to local leathersmiths and a button factory—hilarity ensues as the show day approaches, ego's clash and the devote friendship between Susana Benevides, the collections production manager, and the designer is revealed.

The feature film debut of director Jesse Mann, MATERIAL SUCCESS paints a quirky world literally filled to the rafters with colour, where friendship and courage can inspire change at any moment in your life.

DOLCE & GABBANA - SPRING/SUMMER 2013 l READY-TO-WEAR

by Raymond "Ube" Umpa

Sicilian vibe is in again with an aggregate of explosive colors emitting the vibrancy of the season, coupled with the artisanal touch of the island's outstanding penchant for handicrafts as seen in the collection's brassiere tops and skirts --- indeed, the boys did it again.

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce's Spring 2013 Collection inundated the runway with vivid prints that reflect a mettlesome atmosphere radiating out utterly from the bandana headscarves, raffia sandals and winklespickers --- trends which transport us back in time, yet now, reintroduced again with more oomph.

The silhouettes were comparably evocative-seductive in a hodgepodge of full, pencil and short skirts in flowing light satin organza and silk cloque, as well as in the sweltering sultry presence of puff-ball beach rompers.

For the finale pieces, the house's signature Sicilian widow mantilla lace partnered with the elaborate full skirt dress made of straw stole the limelight --- a perfect way of ending the show with drama and lasting Sicilian impression.

The September Issue

What's the frisson about this?

Honestly speaking, my knowledge about "The September Issue" is only confined to the idea that it has something to do about this month's (What month is it now, again?) issue of Vogue. This magazine, being inarguably the biggest and most popular fashion magazine worldwide releases its thickest issue within the year. Hence, it is a lollapalooza in the fashion world that almost every trendsetter and fashion-inclined person in the metropolis waits with too much excitement. I can even imagine the hubbab of the mob in the magazine stands.

Moreover, this issue also highlights the trends in fall. If you don't want to be left behind the style of the season, then, you should really grab a copy of The September Issue. Without a doubt, the magazine can be pricey for the average earner. But, if there is an issue that you should buy, it's this; no more, no less.

For this year, Lady Gaga got the coveted slot of being featured in the cover of Vogue's 916 page September Issue.

F.Y.I. There is also a movie entitled, "The September Issue", which is about Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's preparation for the 2007 fall-fashion issue from which Sienna Miller was the cover.

In our local vicinage, the various "it" magazines in fashion also has their share of the September Issue's spotlight. Below are the cover of the September Issue or the so-called, "Fashion Issue" of Metro, Mega and Preview.

Enjoy!! ;-)

What is Fashion Cognoscenti?

co·gno·scen·ti  [kon-yuh-shen-tee, kog-nuh-]

plural nounsingular co·gno·scen·te
persons who have superior knowledge and understanding of a particular field, especially in the fine arts, literature, and world of fashion.

Part of Speech:noun
Definition:authority
Synonyms:connoisseurcriticexpertinsider, judge,specialist

The definitions above partly sufficed one's curiosity as far as the sole meaning of the word, "cognoscenti" is concerned. However, the use of such word together with fashion narrowed down the implication of its meaning to persons who have superior knowledge and understanding of the world of fashion. But, still, it doesn't stop there.

The real essence why I put up this blog is for it to serve as a mecca for fashion, where fashion cognoscenti and individuals who just have an undying love for this field could come together, share one's knowledge and expertise, provide updates on the current and upcoming trends and basically discuss about anything within the realm of fashion.

So, to make it crystal clear, this blog isn't biased to the fashion aristocrats. Instead, it is a central hub for every fashion-fixated individual.

See you around, fashion cognoscente!
